1. Clause is a group of related words containing a subject and a predicate.

For example, he laughed.

Clause merupakan kumpulan dua kata (unsur kalimat) atau lebih yang telah memiliki subjek dan verb atau kata kerja yang menjadi predikatnya. Jadi bisa dikatakan bahwa clause dibuat dengan menggunakan gabungan dua phrase atau lebih.

Example:

 ->"I will meet him in office".

The part of above sentence “I will meet him” is a clause because it has a subject(I) and a predicate(will meet him). On the other hand, the rest part of above sentence “in office” lacks both subject and predicate(verb) such group of word is called phrase.

A clause may stand as a simple sentence or may join another clause to make a sentence. Therefore, a sentence consists of one, two or more clauses. 

   Phrase merupakan kumpulan dua kata (unsur kalimat) atau lebih namun tidak memiliki subjek dan verb atau kata kerja sebagai predikatnya.

For example, The boy in the red shirt behaves in a strange way.

A phrase functions as a noun, adverb, or adjective in a sentence, therefore a phrase is also defined as a group of words (lacking subject and verb), that functions as a single part of speech, in a sentence.

2. Simple sentence adalah sentence type (tipe kalimat) yang paling mendasar, yaitu hanya terdiri dari satu independent clause.

example: Water boils at 100 degrees Celcius.

  

Compound Sentence merupakan sentence type yang terdiri dari dua atau lebih independent clause yang dihubungkan oleh coordinate conjunction (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so).

example: Vina wakes up at 5:00 am, and she go to school at 6:30 am.

     

Complex Sentence merupakan sentence type yang  terdiri dari satu independent clause dan satu atau lebih dependent clause [subordinate conjunction (although, when, because, dll) + subject + predicate].

example: Her face is fresh because she always eats fresh fruits.

Compound-complex sentence adalah sentence type (tipe kalimat) yang merupakan kombinasi antara compound dengan complex sentence.

example: while he was cleaning the kitchen, he found a lot of expired food, but he didn’t  got rid of it immediately.

3. Reason why learning English and Indonesian are important:

English may not be the most spoken language in the world, but it is the official language in a large number of countries. It is estimated that the number of people in the world that use in English to communicate on a regular basis is 2 billion. English is the dominant business language and it has become almost a necessity for people to speak English if they are to enter a global workforce, research from all over the world shows that cross-border business communication is most often conducted in English. Its importance in the global market place therefore cannot be understated, learning English really can change my life. Many of the world’s top films, books and music are published and produced in English. Therefore by learning English i will have access to a great wealth of entertainment and will be able to have a greater cultural understanding. Most of the content produced on the internet (50%) is in English. So knowing English will allow me access to an incredible amount of information which may not be otherwise available. Although learning English can be challenging and time consuming, we can see that it is also very valuable to learn and can create many opportunities. Eastbourne school of English is a not-for-profit school, this means that all our profits are re-invested in the school, our purpose is to provide the highest possible quality in English language teaching. While the official Indonesian State unifying function consisting of 400 local languages. Official Indonesian necessary to expedite or facilitate communication at the national level . Indonesian standard serves as the national language , the national language , and language Indonesian national pride

4. I want to tell you about my hobbies:) Almost everybody has some kind of hobby. My hobbies are listening to music and watching television. I am very fond of music. When I am free, I Often listen to my favorite songs from my phone or radio. At weekends, I usually go to music shops in the downtown areas to buy good CDs . Of the famous pop singers , I prefer One Direction, Maroon5, and Zedd. I also spend an hour after dinner watching the news and documentary Programmes . I particularly enjoy the program on Net. Because It broadens my knowledge of nature and human civilizations . I think that my hobbies are very useful . They widen my knowledge , relax my mind , and make me feel better about myself .

Besides that,  singing is the best one. I like singing so much. Actually I can’t live without singing. Singing can make me feel good in everywhere and anytime. Singing always give me new spirit to live. So many thing make me like singing. First, I have a good vocal. But that my parents and my friends same think and I think so. Beside that, singing always make me happy and feels better. I can smile if I sing. And the last and very important, singing can refresh my mind. Singing can make me forget my problems. I don’t sing all music genre. I just like singing pop, pop alternative, pop-rock or melodic genre. Sometimes I singing dangdut genre also. Hehehhehe. In the morning I always listen to music from my phone. And sure, I can follow to sing. I have strange habit. I like singing in bath room when I take a bath. Sometimes I scream without consciousness. Do you think is so disturbing? I don’t care. I really love singing. My parents likes singing too, especially my mother. Beside with my family, I like go to karaoke with my friends. If I sing with my friends I always forget the time. Because of my hobby, when I was in high school I joined singing in the church. And you know, it was awesome. It made my parents so proud with me.
